The season for Toni Vodišek starts in Hyères, where practically the entire top of Formula Kite traditionally gathers. It is one of those regattas where you quickly see where you are…
He has already competed in the World Cup Palma, which did not go according to plan. A fall at high speed was a quick reminder of how demanding this sport is. His neck muscles were sore, and a preventive head check-up followed, fortunately without any serious consequences.
Moments like these quickly put things into perspective. The focus shifts from the result back to the basics; feeling, control and trust in the body.
After a few days on the water and gradually getting back into rhythm, Hyères is the first real “check” of form. The conditions here rarely stay the same for two days in a row, so a lot will depend on adaptation and clean starts.
The focus is not on a “wow result” on the first day, but on making sure the rides are consistent and building a rhythm throughout the series.
“The goal is to get better every day. If that works, the results will come,” says Toni.
